“Better is it that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.”

How good is your word. Should what you say or vow before your Heavenly Father Ya’oh matter? How does He feel about the oath or vow you take?

Consider what Abba Ya’oh said about vows. When you vow a vow unto Ala’aym, defer not to pay it!… When you shall vow a vow unto Ya’oh ELOHAYKA, you shall not slack to pay it:

“When you vow a vow unto ELOHIYM, defer not to pay it…Better is it that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay.” QOHELETH (ECCLESIASTES) 5:4,5 את Cepher Publishing Group.

We can learn valuable lessons concerning our oaths and why it’s important to keep them!

And my master made me swear, saying, You shall not take a woman to my son of the daughters of the Kena`aniym, in whose land I dwell: But you shall go unto my father’s house, and to my kindred, and take a woman unto my son. And I said unto my master, Perchance the woman will not follow me. And he said unto me, YAHUAH, before whom I walk, will send his angel with you, and prosper your way; and you shall take a woman for my son of my kindred, and of my father’s house: Then shall you be clear from this my oath, when you come to my kindred; and if they give not you one, you shall be clear from my oath.” BERE’SHIYTH (GENESIS) 24:37-41 את Cepher Publishing Group.

“For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the other nations; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, says YAHUAH TSEVA’OTH. But cursed be the deceiver, which has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices unto ADONAI a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, says YAHUAH TSEVA’OTH, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.” MAL`AKIY (MALACHI) 1:11 & 14 את Cepher Publishing Group.

When you shall vow a vow unto YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, you shall not slack to pay it: for YAHUAH ELOHAYKA will surely require it of you; and it would be sin in you. That which is gone out of your lips you shall guard and perform; even a freewill offering, according as you have vowed unto YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, which you have promised with your mouth.” Dabaraym | DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 23:21 & 23 את Cepher Publishing Group. When you vow a vow unto Ya’oh Ala’aym, you shall not be slack to pay it!

“If a man vow a vow unto YAHUAH, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.” BEMIDBAR (NUMBERS) 30:2 את Cepher Publishing Group.

For you are a holy people unto YAHUAH ELOHAYKA: YAHUAH ELOHAYKA has chosen you to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth. YAHUAH did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people: But because YAHUAH loved you, and because he would guard את eth-the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, has YAHUAH brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Phar`oh king of Mitsrayim. Know therefore that YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, he is ELOHIYM, the faithful EL, which guards his covenant and mercy with them that love him and guard his commandments to a thousand generations; And repays them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hates him, he will repay him to his face. You shall therefore guard את eth-the commandments, and את eth-the statutes, and את eth-the judgments, which I command you this day, to do them.Dabaraym | DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 7:6-11 את Cepher Publishing Group.

“Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken את eth to these judgments, and guard, and do them, that YAHUAH ELOHAYKA shall guard unto you את eth-the covenant and את eth-the mercy which he swore unto your fathers: And he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you: he will also bless the fruit of your womb, and the fruit of your land, your grain, and your wine, and your oil, the increase of your kine, and the flocks of your sheep, in the land which he swore unto your fathers to give you. You shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle. And YAHUAH will take away from you all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Mitsrayim, which you know, upon you; but will lay them upon all them that hate you. And you shall consume את eth-all the people which YAHUAH ELOHAYKA shall deliver you; your eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve את eth-their elohiym; for that will be a snare unto you. If you shall say in your heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them? You shall not be afraid of them: but shall well remember את eth what YAHUAH ELOHAYKA did unto Phar`oh, and unto all Mitsrayim; The great temptations which your eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the stretched out arm, whereby YAHUAH ELOHAYKA brought you out: so shall YAHUAH ELOHAYKA do unto all the people of whom you are afraid.” Dabaraym | DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 7:12-19 את Cepher Publishing Group.

But YAHUAH ELOHAYKA shall deliver them unto you, and shall destroy them with a mighty destruction, until they be destroyed. And he shall deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall destroy את eth-their name from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them. The graven images of their elohiym shall ye burn with fire: you shall not desire the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it unto you, lest you be snared therein: for it is an abomination to YAHUAH ELOHAYKA. Neither shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it: but you shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.” Dabaraym | DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 7:23-26 את Cepher Publishing Group.

Because Our Heavenly Father is the One we have a covenant with, He also made the covenant to us. He holds us accountable to Him! Take your Oaths and Vows seriously! They can mean the difference between Life and Death!

“That you should enter into covenant with YAHUAH ELOHAYKA, and into his oath, which YAHUAH ELOHAYKA cuts with you this day: That he may establish you today for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto you ELOHIYM, as he has said unto you, and as he has sworn unto your fathers, to Avraham, to Yitschaq, and to Ya`aqov. Neither with you only do I cut את eth-this covenant and את eth-this oath; But with him את eth-that stands here with us this day before YAHUAH ELOHAYNU, and את eth also with him that is not here with us this day: (For ye know את eth how we have dwelt in the land of Mitsrayim; and את eth how we came through the nations which ye passed by;” Dabaraym | DEVARIYM (DEUTERONOMY) 29:12-16 את Cepher Publishing Group.
