“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the Torah of Mosheh, and in the prophets, and in the Tehilliym, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the Scriptures,
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved HA’MASHIACH to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send את eth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Yerushalayim, until ye be endued with power from on high.” LUQAS (LUKE) 24:44-49 את Cepher Publishing Group.
In order to better understand the scriptures, we should examine the context or setting in which the verses are written. Lets take for instance the vision the prophet Daniel recorded in the 10th Chapter of Daniel:
“Now I am come to make you understand את eth what shall befall your people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.” DANIY’EL (DANIEL) 10:14 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“IN the third year of Koresh king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniy’el, whose name was called Ba`altesha’tstsar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood את eth-the thing, and had understanding of the vision. In those days I Daniy’el was mourning three full weeks. I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled. And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Chiddeqel; Then I lifted up את eth-my eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz: His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. DANIY’EL (DANIEL) 10:1-6 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“And I Daniy’el alone saw את eth-the vision: for the men that were with me saw not את eth-the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves. Therefore I was left alone, and saw את eth-this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength. Yet heard I את eth-the voice of his words: and when I heard את eth-the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground. And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands. And he said unto me, O Daniy’el, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto you, and stand upright: for unto you am I now sent. And when he had spoken את eth-this word unto me, I stood trembling. Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniy’el: for from the first day that you did set את eth-your heart to understand, and to chasten yourself before your ELOHIYM, your words were heard, and I am come for your words.” DANIY’EL (DANIEL) 10:7-12 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Miyka’el, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia. Now I am come to make you understand את eth what shall befall your people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days. And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb. And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me. Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, DANIY’EL” (DANIEL) 10:13-18 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto you, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for you have strengthened me. Then said he, Know you wherefore I come unto you? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Yavan shall come. But I will show you את eth-that which is noted in the Scripture of Truth: and there is none that holds with me in these things, but Miyka’el your prince.” DANIY’EL (DANIEL) 10:19-21 את Cepher Publishing Group.
Therefore, when we examine books that were hidden from us, we will find passages like the following:
“And he used to glorify Daniy’el, who was in the den of lions, and pronounce him blessed. And he used to put you in mind of the Scripture of YeshaYahu, which says, Even if you pass through the fire, it shall not burn you.” MAKKABIYM REVIYIY (4 MACCABEES) 18:13-14 את Cepher Publishing Group.
Here’s the context in which this verse is written:
“O YISRA’E’LIY children, descendants of the seed of Avraham, obey this Torah, and in every way be observant. Knowing that observant reasoning is lord of the passions, and those not only inward but outward. When those persons giving up their bodies to pains for the sake of the belief, were not only admired by men, but were deemed worthy of a divine portion. And the nation through them obtained peace, and having renewed the observance of the Torah in their country, drove the enemy out of the land. And the tyrant Antiochus was both punished upon the earth, and is punished now that he is dead; for when he was quite unable to compel Yashar’el to adopt foreign customs, and to desert the manner of life of their fathers, then, departing from Yerushalayim, he made war against the Persians. MAKKABIYM REVIY`IY (4 MACCABEES) 18:1-6 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“And the righteous mother of the seven children spoke also as follows to her offspring: I was a pure virgin, and went not beyond my father’s house; but I took care of the built up rib. No destroyer of the desert, or ‘ravisher of the plain, injured me; nor did the destructive, deceitful snake, make spoil of my chaste virginity; and I remained with my man during the period of my prime. And these my children, having arrived at maturity, their father died: blessed was he! for having sought out a life of fertility in children. He was not grieved with a period of loss of children. And he used to teach you, when yet with you, the Torah and the prophets. He used to read to you the slaying of H’avel by Qayin, and the offering up of Yitschaq, and the imprisonment of Yoceph. And he used to tell you of the zealous Piynechac; and informed you of Chananyahu and Azaryahu, and Miysha’el in the fire. MAKKABIYM REVIY`IY (4 MACCABEES) 18:7-12 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“And he used to glorify Daniy’el, who was in the den of lions, and pronounce him blessed. And he used to put you in mind of the Scripture of YeshaYahu, which says, Even if you pass through the fire, it shall not burn you. He chanted to you David, the hymn writer, who says, Many are the afflictions of the just. He declared the proverbs of Shalomah, who says, He is a tree of life to all those who do His will. He used to verify Yechezqel, who said, Shall these dry bones live? For he did not forget the song which Mosheh taught, proclaiming, I will kill, and I will make live.” MAKKABIYM REVIYIY (4 MACCABEES) 18:13-18 את Cepher Publishing Group.
“This is our life, and the length of our days. O that bitter and yet not bitter day when the bitter tyrant of the Yavaniym, quenching fire with fire in his cruel caldrons, brought with boiling rage the seven sons of the daughter of Avraham to the catapult, and to all his torments! He pierced the balls of their eyes, and cut out their tongues, and put them to death with varied tortures. Wherefore divine retribution pursued and will pursue the pestilent wretch. But the children of Avraham, with their victorious mother, are assembled together to the choir of their fathers; having received pure and immortal souls from ELOHIYM. To whom be glory forever and ever. Amein.” MAKKABIYM REVIY`IY (4 MACCABEES) 18:19-24 את Cepher Publishing Group.
We can indeed learn a lot from examining the context of the scriptures. Especially from the scriptures that were hidden from us and that confirm what Abba YA’OH’s wants us to obey, His Thorah, which are his instructions for us to live by! His Laws!
